Basking Basilisk
This is a green basilisk, not be confused with their terrifying mythological counterpart. The non-fictional basilisk is just as fantastic though as it can walk on water, earning the nickname "the Jesus Christ lizard."
For Studio Concepts & Practices, created in watercolor and colored pencil on watercolor board.
Referenced from a photo taken by Robbie Labanowski.

Flicks and Feathers
Sketched screenshots from a film magazine -- one from True Blood (I believe) and the other from the recent Oz.
I later sketched some bird studies in pencil and pens.

Falkor Redesign
Following Michael Ende's descriptions in the book, I decided to redesign Falkor the Luckdragon from The Neverending Story.
Falkor's appearance is described as lionlike with fur and a mixture of pink and white scales, and red eyes -- almost like an albino Oriental dragon.

Ch-Ch-Changes
Illustrated various stages of David Bowie's career for an AD/Graph project from the previous semester. Bowie is certainly iconic, both musically and visually.

Some Slice of Life sketches
"I love my species."
-David LevineThere are multiple levels of interesting when it comes to people. Sometimes you love them, sometimes you hate them, sometimes you find them terribly confusing.
I have to admit, I'm sometimes reluctant when it comes to leaving my comfy spot behind for social interaction.
Public places are easy sources for people-watching and life-sketching. An unusual fondness for people warms up when I observe and draw them -- It's difficult to explain.

Twinkle-Toed Hobbit
I want to be a Hobbit for the Renaissance Festival! Not a particular Hobbit, just a "me" Hobbit.
When I'm not wearing socks or shoes, I tend to instinctively walk on my tiptoes. I guess that makes me a twinkle-toed Hobbit.
For my Hobbit design, I decided to pull out the acrylics for extra painting practice.
