In Studio Concepts & Practices class,  we were given a state and we had to design a poster from one of the state's festivals. Iowa was my state, so I chose the Blue Ribbon Bacon Festival.

Illustrated Kolacky Recipe

 

For Design and Digital Methods class, I illustrated a recipe for Czech Kolacky (or Kolache). I based the design and illustration off of the well-recognized style from Czech artist, Alphonse Mucha. 

I sketched and inked the figure traditionally, scanned it, and used Illustrator and Photoshop to complete the design. 

The illustration was posted on www.theydrawandcook.com/, a site created managed by one of CCAD's alumni and her brother. Make sure to check out the outstanding work from my fellow classmates as well!
